Ward was born April 15, 1976 in MonroeLouisiana. Monroe Christian School was her private Christian primary school. For her secondary education, Ward first attended Ouachita High School. She was later moved onto River Oaks High School during the summer right after her junior year. After graduating, Ward briefly studied at Northeast Louisiana University. Ward quit high school when she was 13 years old to begin modeling. She tried her hand at acting a few years later. In the 1970s, she was a part-time actress with no credit in the soap opera daytime All My Children. Then she was cast in a role that lasted only a few minutes as NBC's prime time teen-drama Malibu Shores. The role she was cast in was Meg Cummings, a virgin at Sunset Beach in 1996.
